Let’s start with a confession: We love Al Qudra.
ICYDK, Al Qudra Cycle Track is paradise to many cyclists in Dubai. You’ll always find people cycling no matter what time of the day. They’re our fitspiration.
For us, Al Qudra is our go-to place for camping. In fact, we’ve been to Al Qudra Lake for camping and bbq three times the last four weeks (but that’s a story for another day), so yes, we’re obsessed.
Moving on, when we learned last week that the second Last Exit opened in Al Qudra at the end of D63, we knew we had to go see it for ourselves.
“Last Exit is your ultimate exit for a Gourmet Street Food experience. A delicious selection of the freshest, tastiest gourmet offerings is made available to you in a unique Food Truck Park concept and the first of its kind in the region, in a chilled, fun and convenient environment.” Source: www.lastexit.ae
We got there at half past noon, there was a slight sandstorm but there were quite a few people (expectators just like us, we suspect) having their lunch. There were five food trucks – Burger Pit, Poco Loco, Jaldi Jaldi, The Brass and The Green House.
It was of course not as busy as the Last Exit on E11 yet but we can see that it’ll be a family favorite in the coming months.
You’ll fall in love with the laid back, rustic farmhouse feel with the many hay stacks, shovels, rakes and barrels peppered around the place. We’re guessing there’ll be play zones for children and ATM machines soon.
Meraas, the operator of the Last Exit project, is set to open 8 more family-friendly street food tuck parks in the next six months. We can’t wait to visit all of them!
